As on December 31, 2011, the Bank had a network of 240 branches countrywide. United Bulgarian Bank is a part of National Bank of Greece, the oldest and largest among Greek banks.

In 2000 National Bank of Greece (NBG) acquired 89.9% share in United Bulgarian Bank, in 2004 the NBG shares in UBB reached 99.9%.
